I have a lot of good shots from Carnaval this weekend. It really made me appreciate SF, such that I started to feel sad and confused. As shown by the pics, there are a range of people who participate in this pan-Latin dance celebration. Though it was about 50 degrees out, kids and old ladies alike bore their midriffs and shook their asses. I was in my puffy vest and wool sweater bopping around to the live Samba. I saw my students, friends and my Samba teacher, and it all made me feel like I had a community here. Scratch that, have a community.
